Kardinia’s Kindergarten programs are taught by Bachelor trained teachers, accessing 15 hours of kindergarten, over two consecutive days. Families have the option of accessing before and after care for their child if they require.
Our kindergarten provides child led and interest based learning programs. Our Teachers and Educators observe the children on a regular basis, evaluating their needs and creating a curriculum from these observations. We believe that children learn and develop through active and constructive involvement in play. Children will experience a ‘hands on’ approach where they are challenged to explore, investigate and discover. Children are decision makers in our educational program which engages children as co-constructors of the curriculum.
The learning environment is more than the equipment you see, it is how our people use the equipment in ways to challenge, provoke and ignite engagement with their ideas. Children develop at different rates and in different ways; emotionally, socially, intellectually, morally, physically, and spiritually. At Kardinia Kindergarten we aspire to engage children in focused learning using their ideas and interests through an integrated curriculum. Mathematics, science, literacy, arts and technology are embedded into our practices and everyday learning.
As part of our kindergarten programs the children are offered an array of incursions and excursions. Drama performances, wildlife encounters, visits to the library, bus trips to museums and walks in our local community are just some examples of opportunities the children are exposed to to enrich their learning journey.
In the spirit of respect, Kardinia Childcare and Kindergarten recognises the Aboriginal Peoples of Australia as the Traditional Custodians of the Land. We pay our respects to them, their culture and their Elders past, present and future
